Michael studied product design at the University of fine Arts in Saarbrücken, where he studied with Andreas Brandolini and Jerszey Seymour. After finishing his studies in 2009 which was followed by a lecture ship at HBK Saar, he moved to Berlin to work for Werner Aisslinger on Projects with Vitra, Magis, Thonet and many more well known companys.
Michael founded Studio Rem 2012 in Berlin and was directly nominated for the Talents Award by the German Design Council.

With this approach to design he won the German Design Award in 2017, was selected "Newcomer of the year“ by wellknown A&W Magazine and right after this he also won the Archiproducts Design Award in 2018. During the time Michael established a multidisciplinary design studio where he focuses on the fields of furniture-, lights- and tableware design.
