João Pereira
João Pereira is an architect and designer. He studied Urban and Territorial Planning Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon and Product Design at the Lisbon School of Design.
His training, based on a practical and logical approach, allowed him to work at different scales, from architecture and urbanism to interior and furniture design.
Throughout his career, he has developed projects on an urban and architectural scale, rehabilitation and interior design, maintaining a special interest in the relationship between space, object and use.
It was this transition between different scales that sparked his interest in design.
While architecture works with broader relationships between space, context, construction and time, design brings the project closer to the body and matter. The object is touched, used and lived directly.
This proximity brought a more immediate relationship with the creative process, in which the material, proportion and constructive detail directly influence the experience of those who use the object.
